Saturday Morning

Hi all... sorry I didn't update the last two days. I guys I was just lazy.

Let's see, in terms of running... on Thursday Brokma, Hog and I did our Brookline loop. It was pretty nice out. On Friday morning I got up a little earlier and got 10 in by myself. I did the Brookline loop, but kept going on Comm Ave down to the Common and back, all the way to Mass Ave. It was really warm out, and I got to wear shorts. This was a nice change. Overall, this has been a really easy winter for running. It hasn't really snowed at all, and it hasn't been that cold, at least not for a prolonged period.

I think that's it for now. I'll try to get some more media up (pictures/videos) up this week, because I realize that reading about how I run 8 miles each morning can't be that interesting.

Not too Much

Not too much going on recently. The To-Do List hasn't been updated becuase my roomates are bums. I hope they read that.

Bromka , Hog and I did our Tufts loop this morning, which was lovely. The weather was really nice, about 34, sunny, and no wind.

I think I'm going to have to really take a hard look at my training between now and the Marathon. Going long each Sunday and running between 7 and 9 miles each morning, but I feel like I could be putting a lot more into my training. I think I am going to have to force myself to run workouts more consistently. And now we're talking about fartleks and tempo runs, which can really suck sometimes compared to short, fast track work. These longer workouts are really going to help me get in good marathon shape, though. I know I'm in good track shape now, as evidenced by the 4:19 last weekend, but I really don't know what kind of longer distance shape I'm in, especially considering I haven't done any work at tempo/longer interval pace. I'll get a good indication of my fitness at the Hyannis Half-Marathon in 2 weeks, which Hog and I have signed up for. I hope I can run the first half or so at 6:00 pace, and be able to bring the pace down from there, (hopefully much faster.... 5:30s would be nice).

And, I'd just like to say that "Only in Dreams" by Weezer is a really excellent song. The guitar crescendo/solo part about two-thirds of the way through the song is very well done.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day. If you haven't heard Happy Valentine's Day by Andre 3000 from The Love Below, I definitely recommend it.... great song.

This morning, Nate, Bromka and I ran Brookline. Decent run, the snow wasn't so bad.

For a really really really addicting online game, I dare you to check out: http://pya.cc/pyaimg/pimg.php?imgid=22468
Right now my highest score is level 26. Once you get a hang of it, you basically can't stop playing.

And, for a random picture of what life at our apartment is like these days, please see below. AK, Myself, and Bromka, rocking out on our laptops. We just need Hog to buy one, and Skip to bring his home from work and we'd have a complete set....

Winter

Ok.... running. Nate didn't want to go this morning, so I ran by myself. Besides the crappy footing becuase of the snow the run was actually pretty good. The sun is rising right as we're going out the door these days, which makes for some very picturesque views of the Boston skyline. It's really beautiful. I ran around the Chuck for 6 miles. I think this week is going to be pretty light for mileage becuase the roads are crappy, and I still feel a little bit sick.

Here's the completed To-Do List from last week. I haven't heard back from Amanda Congdon yet, I figure she's probably waiting to book a flight to Boston before she writes back..... right.... If we get to next week's To-Do List, I'll try to post it....

In Terra Hiberna Ambulans

Man, crazy snow today. We slept in a little, and after seeing a blizzard outside my window, decided the run would have to wait until later in the afternoon. There was no way we were doing a long run today, which sort of sucked becuase I was hoping to get 18-20 in. Bummer. Hog wussed out, so AK and hit the roads at aroun 2:30. It was terrible out. I thought my face was going to freeze off on our way back across the Mass Ave bridge. We looked like snowmen at the end of the run, it was pretty funny. AK and I got a slow 6 miles in around Boston. See below for a shot before the run....
